Why LED lighting?
LED lights are the most energy-efficient and durable lighting solution available today. Compared to incandescent bulbs, LEDs use up to 80% less electricity and last 15–25 years. It's not just about the living room — LED works great in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, and even for outdoor lighting.
Which LED lights to choose?
- LED panels (recessed ceiling) — modern and minimalist, perfect for living rooms and kitchens
- LED strip — ideal for accent lighting, under cabinets, or in wall niches
- LED bulbs (GU10, E27) — universal, replaceable, and affordable
- Smart LED — controllable via smartphone or switch, adjustable colour temperature and brightness
Choose bulbs based on the room's purpose: task lighting for the kitchen (4000K neutral white), cosier light for the living room (2700K warm white), brighter light for the bathroom (3000K).
What to consider during installation
Electrical safety: LED lighting installation requires proper wiring and circuit breakers. Recessed ceiling panels need a stable power supply and adequate ventilation.
Transformers: Some LED lights need a separate power supply (driver). The wrong driver can cause flickering or damage the light.
Switches: LED bulbs may not work with old dimmers. A dimmable LED needs a dimmer rated for LED loads.
Can you do it yourself?
Swapping a simple bulb is something anyone can do. But if you want to install recessed LED panels, LED strips, or upgrade your entire lighting system, I strongly recommend calling an electrician. A poor connection can cause a short circuit or even a fire.
